We’re back

Hello Spring, I am back after a long time away , have you missed us 😉 Sorry for the delay since our last post.

You might recall that my last post was all about our awareness ride in September last year, which me and my friend Caz were organising. Although we didn’t get the amount expected, there was still a really good turnout with 8 riders, 2 cyclists and 4 walkers (2 with dogs, on leads of course).

The day went really well, most of the traffic which passed us was respectful. There were a couple of vehicles that did not heed the signals, and decided it was ok to speed passed us.

Ponies are enjoying it at their new home up the lane. So much better with the hard standing in front of the stables. December saw some excitable ponies 😆

My very own Christmas reindeer 🦌

In January I took Gatsby down to Knightswood for some showjumping. We entered the 60cm class, as we could just go steady. My little star jumped every single fence, but as we had a couple of fences down were down the order and didn’t get placed.

Although we had 3 fences down (one of these being the double, which we haven’t done a lot of, so need to practice these) and we trotted with a little canter, with Gatsby’s time if he had gone clear would have come in 4th place out of 12. I am so proud of him.

February and March starting to get the ponies ready for spring , and working out their training and fitness plan. Some of this includes in hand walking, which I like to do occasionally as it helps to cement your bond 🐴💚

April me and caz managed to borrow some transport from a friend and head over to Blackpool Pit, fun ride on Easter Sunday. What a treat, it was great to be able to go somewhere different and the ponies enjoyed it as much as we did I think 😊

I hope you enjoyed the update over the last year, I will try not to leave it as long as last time before I am back again. There is hopefully a lot to talk about this year, so watch this space. Hopefully heading over to Stithians with Gatsby later this year, so lots more attendance at shows to get him ready.
